DARYN HENRY—creativity with purpose
Creative leader, team builder, mentor, storyteller, client-whisperer, strategist, information designer, branding expert, audience-first disciple.
Daryn's prevailing career endeavour has been the concise visual conveyance of essential information. He studied Graphic Information Design at the renowned Falmouth University in the UK. His design philosophy is grounded in the program's mantra, "transforming information into communication for a specific target audience."
Following graduation, he packed two bags and flew to New York City to begin an advertising career as an art director, catching his first break in multicultural marketing at YAR Communications. Now with over three decades as a marketing creative, Daryn built that philosophy from the ground up at Sudler & Hennessey, the agency credited with pioneering healthcare advertising, and rose to creative leadership at Relevate Health. A veteran of award-winning pharmaceutical brand launches including blockbusters Boniva, Tamiflu and Brilinta, he has extensive experience across Genentech's and BMS's oncology franchises, with additional client work spanning Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Roche, Merck, Charles Schwab, AT&T, CNN and Unisys.
His range runs the full arc of brand building: strategy and identity, art direction, copywriting, digital design and UX, video and photography. Creative work is only as strong as the strategy that drives it, and Daryn carries that thread from ideation through to execution on every project.
As an experienced creative leader, he revels in mentoring and managing agency creative teams, comprising UX, copy, and art/design disciplines. He excels in nurturing creative talent so they can originate relevant market communications and engaging story-telling for their clients' brands.
That audience-first, creativity-with-purpose approach now drives his practice. After leading creative at agency scale, Daryn works directly with founders and marketing leaders as a creative and brand strategy consultant, building brands from positioning through go-to-market execution. Most recently, that meant taking ariessence pure PDGF+, a category-defining growth-factor formulation for Lynch Regenerative Medicine, from a blank page: naming, identity, positioning, packaging and campaign, and giving it the brand and market presence to match the science behind it. It's become one of the most talked-about launches in regenerative aesthetics, with a digital presence that has gone on to win multiple industry accolades.
What fuels his creativity? Deep insights into audience needs and motivation, judgment-free ideation, smart risk-taking, an objective north star, and looking in places you'd never think would have answers. Daryn celebrates creative that's brutally elegant in its simplicity, sticky in its memorability, directive in its mission, and has the kind of stopping power one cannot ignore.
With AI now central to nearly every industry conversation, Daryn believes in embracing, and more importantly harnessing, the technology, while countering the democratization and possible trivialization of creative values, by putting the experience, the purpose and the communication above all else. Recent training in applied agentic AI through MIT has deepened that conviction. AI can accelerate execution, but judgment, the human truth, and the instinct for what actually moves someone, remain entirely human. An enhancement partner, not a replacement.
That belief carries into his work with Mighty Humans, where he serves as a Tri-State ambassador for a free, human-first AI literacy movement. It's a mission that mirrors his own: helping non-technical people build real AI skills and confidence, without losing what makes us human.
He has been a regular juror for the AIVA Communicator Awards, W3 & Davey Awards, the MM&M Awards and the Mannys, and been a guest lecturer for Transforming to the Pro World (BFA in Photography) at Parsons, The New School For Design, and the School of Visual Arts, Continuing Education Masters Program.
Originally from Wales, he resides in New Jersey with his family and three lab-mix rescues. He is a passionate photographer, drawn to portraiture and reportage, and a championship-winning
rugby coach.
